Mimpi
A mattress brand that owns its own factory floor.
Mimpi grew from a single idea into the largest online mattress store in Southeast Asia, producing in its own Indonesian factory and shipping direct to customers across the archipelago.
Visit mimpi.co.idWhat we walked into.
Buying a mattress in Indonesia meant a showroom, a pushy salesperson and a price built on layers of distribution. Online, almost nobody sold the category seriously: shipping a bulky product across thousands of islands scared most retailers away.
Anyone who did sell online was reselling someone else's product, which meant no control over quality, margin or delivery promise. To build a brand that lasts, Mimpi had to own the whole chain, from foam to front door.
Own the factory and the checkout, and nobody can squeeze you in the middle.
The approach.
- Step 1
We pressure-tested the thesis with real buyers before a single mattress was built: what people actually sleep on, what they pay, and what makes them hesitate at checkout.
- Step 2
We designed a compressed roll-pack product that survives island logistics, then set up production in Indonesia so quality and cost stayed under the company's own roof.
- Step 3
We built the storefront, checkout and order flow to work on cheap phones and shaky connections, because that is how most of the country shops.
- Step 4
We wired logistics, warehousing and after-sales into one operating rhythm, with clear service promises and returns that do not scare customers away.
- Step 5
We built the growth engine: performance marketing, marketplace presence, content and reviews that compound instead of resetting every month.

Stack and disciplines.
What it became.
Mimpi became the largest online mattress store in Southeast Asia, with its own manufacturing, a recognisable brand and a repeat customer base.
Owning production turned into the moat: faster iteration on product, healthier margins, and delivery promises the company can actually keep.
More about our incubatorLessons that travel.
In markets where logistics are the hard part, the supply chain is the product strategy.
Mobile-first is not a design choice in Southeast Asia, it is the entire funnel.
A brand people trust with their sleep is built on service after delivery, not on the ad before it.
